July 6, 2017
The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met June 5, 2017; at 6:30 p.m. President Bill Rushe called the
meeting to order and led the assembly in prayer.
A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Bill Rushe, Jessica Fulton, Randy Cole, Donna Depukat, Jo Ann Yager,
Diane Barber, Janie Fitzpatrick and secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was established.

change; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Resignation: Mr. Mike Willey and Mr. Larry Watson resigned from the board.
Recreation: Pool, Ballfield, Playground:

Ms. Fulton reported that the plastic coverings used to cover the sharp edges on the playground is being removed and
requested that an alternative solution be considered. Mr. Rushe agreed to see what solution he could come up with.
Pool
Ms. Fulton reported that new pool safety rope had been purchased and installed for the pool.
Maintenance: Lakes & Dams & Mowing:
Lakes & Dams
Mr. Cole reported that the dock on the upper lake has been completed.
The gravel contractor removed the grass, however due to bad soil suggested putting down landscape fabric to keep the rocks
from mixing in with the soil.
A text/email vote was taken requesting approval to accept the suggestion made by the gravel contractor. The motion was
voted on and passed.
Mr. Cole suggested allowing motors larger than 6 horsepower on the lake with the understanding that there will be no wakes
allowed. Mr. Cole explained that a 6 horsepower motor makes a boat unsellable to anyone other than to a BVL resident.
There was concern from residents asking how the “no wake” rule would be enforced, due to the difficulty in enforcing
current rules. Mr. Rushe asked Ms. Depukat to assist him in researching the proposal.
