MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING
November 11, 2017
The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met November 11, 2017; at 6:30 p.m. Bill Rushe called the
meeting to order and Bill Rushe led the assembly in prayer.
A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Bill Rushe, Dorothy Brown, Chuck Scott, Kathy Fink, Leonard Wentworth,
Donna Depukat, Yvonne Chaney, John Harmon, Barbara Campbell, Jo Ann Yager, Diane Barber, Janie Fitzpatrick and secretary-
treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was established.
Association members present were: Glenn Anderson, Richard Chaney, Rosalie Costello, Lacy Reynolds, Richard Gatlin, Linda Babb,
Scott Fitzpartick, Vickie Moore, Theresa Walters, Janice Burchett, Ned and Diane Plunk.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of September 11, 2017 were reviewed by the directors. Motion was made to accept
the minutes as presented; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement was reviewed. The motion was made to accept the financials with one
change; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Guest Speaker Supervisor Michael Lee:
Supervisor Michael Lee updated residents on the progress of the Coldwater Bridge, the new waste removal and recycling
program, and the proposed opening of the new restaurant on highway 51.
Mr. Lee advised the board and residents on how to best handle beautification issues within the community. Explaining that
BVL has the same authority as the county and due to the multiple channels and individuals that the county has to go through
it typically takes the county longer than it would BVL. Mr. Lee assured BVL that the county is always there to support and
assist the community.
Election of President:
Janie Fitzpatrick nominated Bill Rushe for President, Randy Cole seconded the motion. The board voted 11-0 in favor of Mr.
Rushe.
Election of Vice-President:
Diane Barber nominated Randy Cole for Vice-President, Chuck Scott seconded the motion. The board voted 11-0 in favor of
Mr. Cole.
Recreation: Pool, Ballfield, Playground:
Mr. Rushe asked Ms. Fink if she would serve as recreation director, Ms. Fink accepted.
Playground & Ballfield:
Ms. Brown reported no needed playground or ballfield repairs.
Pool
Ms. Fink reported that a vote was taken and it was agreed that a pool cover be purchased and installed by Leslie’s Pool
Supply.
Maintenance: Lakes & Dams & Mowing:

Mowing Mr. Wentworth reported that everything is looking good.
Publicity: Orange Book, Beautification/Sanitation/Building Permits & Greeter:

Beautification
Ms. Chaney reported that only a few residents complied with the last mailed citations.
Due to recent complaints regarding beautification citations a copy of the beautification letter was passed out to the board
along with a picture of cited property. Ms. Chaney explained that the citation letter is polite and as could be seen in the
picture, was necessary. Ms. Chaney asked the board for their support and that board members please not encourage residents
to “just throw the citation away”.
Ms. Chaney reminded the board that the previous cited common areas are still in need of attention. The areas are:
area C on Thunderbird South, area around the tree on Green Duck Levee, the area behind the clubhouse.
There were resident complaints involving the water association property.
Permits
Mr. Harmon had one building permit request for a deck. Mr. Harmon passed out the plans for the deck and made the motion
to issue the permit. Ms. Fitzpatrick seconded the motion, the motion passed 11-0.

Greeter
Ms. Campbell reported visiting with 1 resident.
Ms. Campbell requested replacement letters be purchased for the welcome sign as many of the letters are turning yellow.
Clubhouse:
Ms. Yager reported 5 rentals.
$29.50 was purchased in clubhouse supplies
Finance:
There are currently 43 unpaid lots. Lots owing over $300 have been sent to collections.
Security:
Mr. Scott had nothing new to report.

Ladies Club:
Ms. Fink reported that the Ladies Club will be hosting a Veteran’s Breakfast and ceremony, Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
The Ladies Club meets the first Tuesday of every month at 10:00. The ladies are considering establishing an evening Ladies
Club for individuals who work.
New/Unfinished Business:
House Numbers:
Residents were asked to be sure to visibly place address numbers on homes.
Christmas Parade/Board Meeting:
The motion was made and accepted to move the December 4th board meeting to December 5 due to the Christmas Parade. The motion
passed 11-0.The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting, the meeting adjourned at 7:47 p.m.
