MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING

September 11, 2017

The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met September 11, 2017; at 6:30 p.m. Randy Cole called the

meeting to order and Janie Fitzpatrick led the assembly in prayer.

A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Jessica Fulton, Randy Cole, Yvonne Chaney, Barbara Campbell, Diane

Barber, Janie Fitzpatrick, Chuck Scott and secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was established.

Association members present were: Donna Miller, Vickie Moore, Theresa Walters, Janice Burchett, Dale Wardlaw and Peggy

Wardlaw.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of August 7, 2017 were reviewed by the directors. Motion was made to accept the

minutes as presented; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement was reviewed. The motion was made to accept the financials with one

change; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Recreation: Pool, Ballfield, Playground:

Playground

 Ms. Fulton reported that there are a couple of roots, on the playground that need to be removed.

 Mr. Cole agreed to inspect the tire swing posts for needed repairs.

Pool

 Mr. Scott presented the board with estimates from Leslie’s Pool requesting permission to purchase a new hard top pool cover.

After reviewing the various prices and features of each cover the board requested that Mr. Scott obtain additional estimates

from other vendors so that the board would have something to compare to Leslie’s quotes.

 Mr. Scott reported requests were made to allow the pool to remain open for a couple of more weeks. The board agreed that

due to the decreased use after Labor Day it would not be feasible to keep it open.

 Ms. Miller asked when the pool fence company would be back to do the paint touch-ups on the fence, Mr. Scott responded

that he would be doing the paint touchups.

Maintenance: Lakes & Dams & Mowing:

Lakes & Dams

 Mr. Cole reported that there are a few minor cracks that are being repaired and watched closely.

Mowing

 There were a couple of common areas reported as needing attention: the common area beside Patsy Elkins property, the area

behind the clubhouse, the area around the tree on Green Duck Levee, the grass in the cracks at the clubhouse causing further

erosion of the parking lot asphalt.

Publicity: Orange Book, Beautification/Sanitation/Building Permits & Greeter:

 No report.

Beautification

 Ms. Chaney reported 19 letters mailed out; currently only 4 residents have complied.

 There was a report of a tree on a vacant house at Thunderbird and Black Panther.Permits

 No report.

Greeter

 Ms. Campbell reported visiting with 5 residents.

Clubhouse:

 Ms. Barber reported 3 rentals.

Finance:

 There are currently 49 unpaid lots. Lots owing over $300 were mailed out reminders.

Security:

 Mr. Scott reported one call regarding a drinking cooler in the pool area.

 Non-emergency calls can be made to DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department at 662.469.8599.

Ladies Club:

 Nothing new to report.

New/Unfinished Business:

 BVL resident Ms. Walters approached the board regarding a Beautification Letter that she had received from the board

concerning a cattle fence. The resident explained that she had received prior permission from a board member to have her pet

pig and that John Harmon had issued a permit for the fence 2 weeks prior. It was explained that all permits must come before

the board for approval before the permit can be issued to the resident. It was also explained that the fencing material must

consist of residential fencing material. Ms. Walters agreed to erect a fence that was in compliance with BVL and DeSoto

County. The board agreed to speak with Mr. Harmon and find out why the permit had been issued and not approved by the

board.

The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting, the meeting adjourned at 7.28 p.m.
