April 5, 2021
The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met April 5, 2021; at 7:00 p.m. Ned Plunk called
the meeting to order and Larry Moore led the assembly in prayer.
A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Ned Plunk, Teri Rowell, Richard Gatlin, Kimberly Wood,
Larry Wilson, Donny Plunk, Ann Plunk, Vicki Moore, Barbara Campbell Larry Moore, Alex Waugh, and Secretary-
treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was established.
Association members present were: Kathy Fink, Andrea Ward, Paul Covington and Janice Burchette.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of March 1, 2021, were reviewed by the directors. A motion was
made to accept the minutes, seconded, and passed unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement of February and March was reviewed. The motion was
made to accept the financials with no changes. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Finance:
Ms. Rowell requested that board members begin to work on the 2022 budget.
Currently 79 delinquent lots with 38 owing for more than one year.
Ms. Rowell presented new information relating to the foreclosure. Ms. Moore made the motion that in light
of the new information the board attempt service one additional time as it is more cost effective, Mr. Donny
Plunk seconded the vote. The vote passed 9-0.
Neighborhood Watch:
Mr. Gatlin reported two incidents of escaped boats.
Ms. Wood reported 8 calls to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department.
Residents are reminded to take video and/or picture proof when an unlawful act is taking place.
Non-emergency security calls & concerns can be made to DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department at

Recreation (Pool, Ballfield & Playground):
Mr. Wilson reported having weed eated around the pool area and the opening of the pool restrooms for the
community Easter Egg hunt.
The pool cover is scheduled to be removed in May.
Clubhouse:
Mr. Plunk reported 1 rental in March and 2 scheduled rentals for April.
Currently 2 quotes for the BVL security systems have been obtained, a 3rd quote is pending.
Ms. Moore made the motion that funds from the security budget be applied toward a security system. Ms.
Campbell seconded the motion. The motion passed 8-0.
The clubhouse will be in need of some major repairs in the near future.Orange Book
Ms. Plunk thanked Ms. Rowell for taking the time to sit down with her to go over the Orange Book and some
of the needed updates.
Ms. Plunk explained that the key to revising the Orange Book is communication within the community.
Ms. Moore made the motion that an information only (no comment) Facebook page be set up with BVL
board members serving as administrators over the page. Mr. Waugh seconded the motion, the motion passed
8-0. The board agreed that Ms. Ann Plunk, Mr. Larry Moore, Ms. Kim Wood and Mr. Alex Waugh serve as
administrators.
Beautification:
Ms. Rowell reported 46 violations.
Ms. Rowell and Ms. Wood stated that they will be meeting within the next couple of weeks regarding the
mailing of the violations.

Permits
Ms. Moore presented two building requests one for a privacy fence and one for a patio. All necessary
requirements to issue a permit for a fence was presented. Ms. Rowell made the motion to issue the permit,
Mr. Plunk seconded the motion. The motion passed 9-0.
DeSoto County verified that the request for a patio will not need a permit as the patio will not have a roof.
Greeter
Ms. Campbell had nothing new to report.
Mowing & Grounds
Mr. Moore reported that the first mowing of the season took place on April 1st and that all went well.
Maintenance: Lakes & Dams:
Mr. Waugh reported:
Monthly inspections were conducted
Number 3 is in the most need
Thanks was given to those who spent 2 days assisting in the cleanup of trash on the
spillway/common areas.
The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9:12 p.m.
