MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION, INC.

January 4, 2021

The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met December 14, 2020; at 7:00 p.m. Ned Plunk

called the meeting to order and Larry Moore led the assembly in prayer.

A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Ned Plunk, Teri Rowell, Richard Gatlin, Donny Plunk, Ann

Plunk, Vicki Moore, Larry Moore, Steve Shifflett, Alex Waugh, and Secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was

established.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of December 14, 2020, were reviewed by the directors. A motion

was made to accept the minutes, seconded, and passed unanimously.

FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement of December was reviewed. The motion was made to

accept the financials with no changes. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Finance:

 Ms. Rowell reported her findings on proceeding with foreclosures on unpaid properties. Ms. Ann Plunk

made the motion to proceed with the foreclosure on XXX, Ms. Vicki Moore seconded the motion. The

motion passed 8-0.

 It was agreed that Ms. Rowell and Ms. Ann Plunk would work together on a proposal allowing for non-

judicial foreclosures to be included in the Orange Book.

Neighborhood Watch:

 Mr. Gatlin reported that a stolen truck had been stowed away behind the BVL storage shed.

 Ms. Vicki Moore reported (11) eleven calls to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s; (2) two calls for extra patrols,

(9) nine responses and (1) one stolen atv.

 Ms. Moore reported that due to insurance requirements the dummy camera would be removed.

 Ms. Rowell made the motion that the security system, at the BVL guard shack, be exchanged for a camera

system with better cameras. Mr. Donny Plunk offered the donation of a new security system to be placed at

the BVL guard shack. Mr. Donny Plunk & Mr. Alex Waugh agreed to take the lead on having the cameras

installed. Ms. Vicki Moore seconded the motion. The motion passed 8-0.

 Non-emergency security calls & concerns can be made to DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department at

662.469.8599.

Recreation (Pool, Ballfield & Playground):

 Mr. Wilson had nothing new to report.

Clubhouse:

 Mr. Donny Plunk reported that he will be working with Mr. Waugh on the cameras for the

clubhouse.

Publicity: Orange Book, Beautification/Sanitation/Building Permits & Greeter:

 Ms. Ann Plunk reported that she will be reviewing the Orange Book for any needed and necessary updates.Beautification:

 Ms. Rowell was asked for an update on the oversized truck parking in BVL. New information was obtained

on the situation. Ms. Rowell agreed to follow up with the county on their progress.

 Ms. Moore had nothing new to report.

Greeter

 No report.

Mowing & Grounds

 Mr. Moore no new report.

Maintenance: Lakes & Dams:

 Mr. Shifflett reported:

 Culverts were cleaned out

 There are more 4 wheeler tracks on #1 and #3

 Responded to concerned resident regarding gas going into lake. Resident was put in contact with

appropriate authorities so that the issue could be resolved.

 There is some leakage on the spillway that was identified and reported to the state engineer, Steve

Wilson. Mr. Wilson is conferring with Bulldog Construction on the situation and will report back as

soon as more information is available.

The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:53 p.m.
