MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING
June 5, 2017
The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met May 1, 2017; at 6:30 p.m. President Bill Rushe called the
meeting to order and Judy Pugh led the assembly in prayer.
A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Bill Rushe, Jessica Fulton, Maria Hamon, Randy Cole, Mickey Dacus,
Donna Depukat, Barbara Campbell, Jo Ann Yager, Diane Barber, and secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was established.
Association members present were: Kathy Fink, Dale Wardlaw, Peggy Wardlaw, Yvone Chaney, Steve Shifflett, Dodi Shifflett,
Donna Miller, Abby Miller, Janice Burchette, and Judy Pugh.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of May 1, 2017 were reviewed by the directors. Motion was made to accept the
minutes as presented; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement was reviewed. The motion was made to accept the financials with one
change; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Recreation: Pool, Ballfield, Playground:
Playground
Ms. Fulton reported that there are some anthills that need to be treated. Ms. Fulton suggested sealing the wooden playground
equipment with some waterseal.
Pool
Ms. Fulton reported that everything is going well with the pool.
Maintenance: Lakes & Dams & Mowing:
Lakes & Dams
Mr. Cole reported that he is going to go to the co-op and purchase some kind of week killer to rid the foliage/weeds on the
spillway .
Mr. Cole is in the process of getting with the engineer to see what kind of sealant is needed to patch up a couple of cracks on
the spillway.
Mowing
No report.
Publicity: Orange Book, Beautification/Sanitation/Building Permits & Greeter:

Ms. Depukat had nothing new to report.

Permits
There was one request for a storage building permit. The permit will be passed on to Mr. Willey.

Greeter
Ms. Campbell reported visiting with two (2) new residents.
Clubhouse: Ms. Yager reported no rentals.
The rekeying of the clubhouse was completed totaling 233.80.
Ms. Yager presented a proposal to update the clubhouse restroom. The update would include a new sink, faucet and widening
the door to the, making it more assessable for a wheelchair. The men’s restroom would be a unisex restroom. The Ladies
Club offered to pay half of the update totaling $1,563. The motion was made and accepted that the men’s restroom would be
updated making it more assessable for wheelchairs. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Finance:
There are currently 56 unpaid lots totaling $31,601.37 in uncollected dues.
Security:
No report
4-wheelers and untagged recreational vehicles are not permissible on county roads.

Ladies Club:
Ms. Fink reported that the Ladies Club will be holding a luncheon June 6 @ 11:00. There will be a guest speaker giving a
talk on cancer.
The Ladies Club made a request that the board make their annual donation for the 4th of July food of $450. Ms. Fulton made
the motion not to donate $450 toward the food, but to collect private donations from the community. Ms. Depukat made the
motion to donate $450 toward the cost of food for the 4th of July festivities; Ms. Campbell seconded Ms. Depukat’s motion
the motion passed.
Ms. Pugh asked if the board would allow the Ladies Club to rent a bouncy house for the children. Mr. Rushe agreed to check
with insurance to make sure it would it is covered.
Mr. Rushe asked Ms. Campbell to place a notice on the front sign informing residents that donations will be taken up on June
10, for 4th of July fireworks.
New/Unfinished Business
The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting, the meeting adjourned at 7:14 p.m.
