MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING

August 7, 2017

The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met August 7, 2017; at 6:30 p.m. President Bill Rushe called

the meeting to order and led the assembly in prayer.

A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Bill Rushe, Randy Cole, Donna Depukat, Yvonne Chaney, Barbara

Campbell, Jo Ann Yager, Diane Barber, Janie Fitzpatrick, Chuck Scott and secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was

established.

Association members present were: Sondra Raley, Dick Chaney, Donna Miller, Abby Miller, Kathy Fink, Martha James, Dale

Wardlaw and Peggy Wardlaw.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of July 6, 2017 were reviewed by the directors. Motion was made to accept the

minutes as presented; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement was reviewed. The motion was made to accept the financials with one

change; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Resignation: Mr. Mike Willey and Mr. Larry Watson resigned from the board.

Recreation: Pool, Ballfield, Playground:

Playground

 No report.

Pool

 Mr. Scott reported that he would need a few more chemicals to make it through the pool season. It was agreed that Mr. Scott

get quotes on pool covers in preparation for closing the pool.

Maintenance: Lakes & Dams & Mowing:

Lakes & Dams

 Mr. Cole reported that the boat launch and parking pad on the upper lake has been completed.

Mowing

 There were two areas reported as needing mowing: the common area at Patsy Elkins property and around the tree on Green

Duck Levee.

Publicity: Orange Book, Beautification/Sanitation/Building Permits & Greeter:

Orange Book

 Ms. Depukat had nothing new to report.

Beautification

 There were 20 letters mailed out;, as of August 7 only 3 residents had complied.

Permits

 There was 1 permit issued for a new home build on Thunderbird N.

 Code violations can be reported to Bennie Hopkins @ BHopkins@desotocountyms.gov and/or Michael Lee 901.730.2792

Greeter

 Nothing new to report.Clubhouse:

 Ms. Yager reported no rentals.

 Forty-eight dollars and seventy-seven cents were spent on waste paper baskets, paper towels and hangers.

Finance:

 There are currently 51 unpaid lots totaling $31,600.51 in uncollected dues.

Security:

 Mr. Scott reported one call.

 Non-emergency calls can be made to DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department at 662.469.8599.

Ladies Club:

 Ms. Fink reported that the bathrooms had been completed. A special thanks was given to John Harmon for all the donations

that he had made toward the completion and to each of the ladies that helped to clean the clubhouse afterwards.

 There will be a community potluck September 9. Everyone is invited to attend.

 There will be a Christmas Silent Auction October 14; donations will be accepted on Friday the 13 at the clubhouse.

 There will be an Eclipse Party on August 21 @ 11:00 a.m. complete with moon pies. Everyone is invited to attend.

The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting, the meeting adjourned at 6:52 p.m.
