MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING

March 5, 2018

The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met March 5, 2018; at 6:30 p.m. Bill Rushe called

the meeting to order and led the assembly in prayer.

A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Bill Rushe, Kathy Fink, Dorothy Brown, Chuck Scott, Leonard

Wentworth, Yvonne Chaney, Barbara Campbell, Jo Ann Yager, Diane Barber, and Secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A

quorum was established.

Association members present were: Dale Wardlow, Wendy Regel, Donna Miller, Bruce Boettcher, Dennis and Claire

Saver.

MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of February 5, 2018 were reviewed by the directors. Motion was made

to accept the minutes as presented; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement of December and January was reviewed. The motion was

made, to accept the financials with no changes; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.

Recreation: Pool, Ballfield, Playground:

Playground & Ballfield:

 Ms. Brown reported that there are currently no issues on the playground or ballfield.

Pool

 Mr. Scott reported that the repair estimate on the pool vacuum is 738.29. The board requested that cost research be done

on purchasing a new pool vacuum.

Maintenance: Lakes & Dams & Mowing:

Lakes & Dams

 No report

Mowing

 Mr. Wentworth reported that he had treated some problem ant areas.

 Mr. Rushe recommended that BVL consider purchasing chemicals to kill weeds on the BVL common property as a

means to cut down on the number of mowings. Mr. Rushe offered the use of his sprayer equipment to accomplish the

sprayings if BVL wanted to do the spraying in-house. It was agreed that cost estimates be obtained on chemicals for a

in-house spraying and a cost estimate from Woolever .

Publicity: Orange Book, Beautification/Sanitation/Building Permits & Greeter:

 No report.

Beautification

 Ms. Chaney reported no citation letters were mailed out for the month of February. Certified letters would be sent out to

violators beginning in March to both property owners and renters to ensure that the property owners are made aware of

violations.

 Ms. Chaney reported one sanitation complaint. The violation was turned in to the Mississippi State Department of

Health.

Permits

 No requests.

Greeter

 Nothing new.Clubhouse:

 Ms. Yager reported one rental. A total of $16.79 was spent on soap and paper products.

Finance:

 There are currently 237 unpaid lots.

Security:

 Mr. Scott had nothing new to report.

 Non-emergency calls can be made to DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department at 662.469.8599.

Ladies Club:

 The Annual Ladies Club Easter Egg Hunt is planned for March 24.

 Ms. Yager made the motion to hire Ground Force to clean up the leaves and gumballs around the clubhouse for a fee of

$140.00, Ms. Barber seconded the motion. The motion passed 8-0.

 The Ladies Club Annual Spring Dinner is scheduled for April 7, the community is invited to come out and bring your

favorite dish.

New/Unfinished Business:

Water:

Lakes:

 BVL resident Bruce Boettcher reported conducting water tests on BVL lakes and results coming back with evidence of

E.coli.

 Mr. Wardlow voiced that the water in the lakes are not suitable for eating the fish.

Home:

 Ms. Miller reported that she had contacted the state regarding water testing for her home and was forwarded to the local

water company. Ms. Miller explained that due to the conflict of interest she would like an outside company testing the

water. Mr. Wentworth informed Ms. Depukat that Waypoint Analytical (901.213.2400) would test water for residents.

Friendly Reminders:

• Ms. Miller suggested having Ms. Depukat periodically place “Friendly Reminders” on the two BVL Facebook sites.

The reminders would serve as a reminder of regulations, ordinances and guidelines to residents. The Board agreed that

this would be a good way to remind and inform residents.

The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting, the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
