MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING
July 2, 2018
The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met July 2, 2018; at 6:30 p.m. Ned Plunk called the
meeting to order and led the assembly in prayer.
A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Ned Plunk, Donna Depukat, Kathy Fink, Bruce Bottcher,
Yvonne Chaney, Barbara Campbell, Jo Ann Yager, Diane Barber, and Secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was
established.
Association members present were: Donna Miller, Linda Babb, Richard Gatlin, Rose Costello, Peggy Wardlow, Richard
Chaney, Janice Burchett, and Diane Plunk.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of June 4, 2018 were reviewed by the directors. Motion was made to
accept the minutes as presented. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement of June 4, 2018 was reviewed. The motion was made, to
accept the financials with no changes. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Recreation: Pool, Ballfield, Playground:
Playground & Ballfield:
No report.
Pool
Ms. Fink reported that the concrete is broken away from the pool ladder.
The board voted 4-2 to close the pool until the ladder could be repaired. Bruce Bottcher agreed to see if he could make
the repairs July 3.
Issues affecting the pool include: eating, drinking and utilizing the pool without buttons.
Maintenance: Lakes & Dams & Mowing:
Lakes & Dams
Mr. Bottecher reported that the levee at Bob White was inspected for atv damage and a bid was requested from Bill
Rushe. Mr. Rushe bid $2,300 to fill needed areas with dirt, sod and water.
Ms. Chaney made the motion to accept Mr. Rushe’s bid if two other contractors were contacted and Mr. Rushe’s bid
was the best or if it is the only bid that could be obtained. Ms. Barber seconded the motion, the motion passed
unanimously 7-0.
A ½ load of dirt is needed to fill in an area on the Bob White spillway.
Mowing

Beautification
Ms. Chaney reported thirteen (13) homes cited, five (5) letters went to the worst offenders, two (2) were repeat
offenders and two (2) to three (3) of the worst offenders will be turned in.
Permits
Ms. Depukat reported one (1) request for a new carport/driveway. Ms. Yager made the motion to grant the permit, Ms.
Barber seconded the motion. The motion passed 7-0.

Greeter
Ms. Campbell reported visiting with 1 new family.Clubhouse:
Ms. Yager reported one new rental. $3.21 was spent on dish detergent.
Ms. Yager requested permission to spend under $100 for a piece of replacement glass for a picture frame and mulch for
the flower beds. The board unanimously agreed that Ms. Yager could purchase the mulch and glass for under $100.
Finance:
There are currently 65 unpaid lots.
Ms. Depukat made the motion to immediately increase the real estate form letter charge to $75.00. Ms. Chaney
seconded the motion. The motion passed 6-0.
Ms. Chaney made the motion to immediately increase the charge to $10.00 for the administration fee for any unpaid
accounts. Ms. Depukat seconded the motion. The motion passed 6-0.
Neighborhood Watch:
Ms. Depukat made the motion to hire an individual at a rate of $110.00 a week to monitor the pool for nonresidents,
unpaid residents, individuals eating, drinking and not following other pool rules. Mr. Bottcher seconded the motion. The
motion passed unanimously 7-0. It was agreed Ms. Fink and Ms. Depukat would conduct the interview.

Ladies Club:
Ms. Babb reported that everything is covered for the 4th of July festivities, however firework donations are still being
accepted.
Ms. Depukat made the motion to contribute $400.00 for the 4th of July food, Ms. Campbell seconded the motion. The
motion passed 7-0 unanimously.
New/Unfinished Business:
Newsletter:
Mr. Plunk asked the Ladies Club if they would consider producing a community newsletter. The ladies agreed to
discuss it at their July meeting.
Monthly Meeting Time:
Mr. Plunk asked if the board would consider changing the monthly meeting time back to 7:00 p.m., for two months to
see if more people would participate in the meetings.
Ms. Campbell made the motion to change the monthly board meeting time from 6:30 to 7:00 for two months; the
motion was seconded by Ms. Barber. The motion passed 6-1.
The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9:23 p.m.
