MINUTES OF MONTHLY MEETING
September 9, 2019
The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met September 9, 2019; at 7:00 p.m.
Ned Plunk called the meeting to order and led the assembly in prayer.
A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Ned Plunk,Yvonne Chaney, Richard Gatlin, Kathy
Fink, Diane Barber, Jo Ann Yager, Vicki Moore, Barbara Campbell, Larry Moore, Steve Shifflett and
Secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was established.
Association members present were: Donna Miller, Steve Pionk, Teri Sheppard, Jean Pinkston, Janice Burchette,
Rosalie Costello, and Richard Chaney.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of August 5, 2019 were reviewed by the directors. A motion
was made to accept the minutes as presented, seconded and passed unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement of August was reviewed. The motion was made,
to accept the financials with no changes. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Finance:
Ms. Rowell reported the final budget for the 2020 Annual Meeting.
Neighborhood Watch:
Mr. Gatlin reported that everything is going well.
Mr. St. Cin reported an incident of an arrow being shot through a resident’s work van and also one domestic
situation.

Recreation: Pool, Ballfield, Playground:
Playground & Ballfield:
Ms. Barber thanked the anonymous resident for mowing the ballfield.
Pool
Ms. Fink reported that estimates for the upcoming pool season are being worked up.
The pool was broken into, no damage was found.
Clubhouse:
Ms. Yager reported 3 rentals.
Thirteen dollars and eighty cents was spent on cleaner and dehumidifier.

Beautification:
The motion was made and seconded that the 3 lots presented would be turned over to the county for ordinance
violations.

Mowing
Mr. Moore reported that the common areas will likely need one more mowing before the season is over.
Maintenance: Lakes & Dams & Mowing:
Lakes & Dams
Mr. Shifflett reported:
Cutting and cleaning was conducted on spillway #1
Woolever did a good job on mowing, however they need to remember to weedeat all the way to the
lake.
The bottom of #3 and #4 need spraying.
Met with county regarding culvert and what could be done to fix the issue.
Fire ant beds were treated.
Quotes were obtained for cleaning and caulking the cracks and spillways
o Cost per spillway is $4,600, 22,000 and 7,800 with a 1 year warranty
o 12,000- 15,000 per spillway plus $3 per foot on simulated joints if needed with a 5 year
warranty.
o Mr. Shifflett made the motion to set up work days to fill and seal the cracks at an
approximate cost of $1,500.The motion was seconded by Ms. Moore and passed 7-0.
The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9:06 p.m.
