September 13, 2021
The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met September 13, 2021; at 7:00 p.m. Ned Plunk
called the meeting to order and Larry Moore led the assembly in prayer.
A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Ned Plunk, Teri Rowell, Richard Gatlin, Kimberly Wood, Larry
Wilson, Vicki Moore, Ann Plunk, Larry Moore, Steve Shifflett, and Secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was
established.
Association members present were: Janice Burchette, Bruce Boettcher, Kathy Fink, and Diane Barber.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of August 2, 2021, were reviewed by the directors. A motion was made to
accept the minutes, seconded, and passed unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement of August was reviewed. The motion was made to accept the
financials with no changes. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Finance:
Ms. Rowell reported:
o That the board agreed that the $8,680.00 that was to be moved to the Lakes and Dams savings account
and earmarked as a guarantee of funds as required by MDEQ had been moved over.
o That the audit had been completed and was clean.
Neighborhood Watch:
Mr. Gatlin had nothing new to report.
Ms. Wood reported 6 calls to the Sheriff’s Department and 25 additional patrols.
Residents are reminded to take video and/or picture proof when an unlawful act is taking place.
Non-emergency security calls & concerns can be made to DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department at 662.469.8599.
Recreation (Pool, Ballfield & Playground):
Mr. Wilson reported:
o That the pool has been closed and is tentatively scheduled to have the cover put on this upcoming
weekend.
o There are some needed repairs that will need to take place before reopening the pool.
Clubhouse:
Ms. Moore reported:
o That due to the current mold issue an upcoming rental had been cancelled. Mike Tooley with ECT
(Environmental Compliance & Testing) had been contacted and for a fee of $650 ECT will take samples
and determine what kind of mold is present so as to better know how to move forward on eradicating the
mold. Larry Wilson offered to reach out to his contacts to see if they could assist with the issue. Ms.
Rowell made the motion that Larry Wilson reach out to his contacts to see if they can help and proceed
from there. Ms. Campbell seconded the motion, the motion passed 7-1.
Orange Book
Ms. Plunk reported:
o There was no community meeting for the month of August so there will be two in September.
o An informative fact sheet with bullet points will be printed up and handed out to residents.
o Board members were asked to canvas their section of the neighborhood in order to inform residents and
pass out the fact sheets.
o It was agreed that a community meeting be held September 19th @ 2:00 pm.o Fact Sheets will be handed out at the community entrance on September 30th and October 1st
.
Beautification:
Ms. Wood reported:
o That the county had been contacted regarding one property with no response and one property owner is
currently being held in contempt of court.
Ms. Rowell reported:
o That the property scheduled to go to court in August was continued to October.

Permits
Ms. Moore reported:
o One request for to enclose a garage and install a door. Ms. Rowell made the motion to approve the
request, Ms. Plunk seconded the motion. The motion passed 8-0.

Mowing & Grounds
Mr. Moore reported:
o Mowing is going well with one follow up on weedeating around the lake
Maintenance: Lakes & Dams:
Mr. Shifflett reported:
o That he is currently working with Mr. Wilson on the grant. If the grant is awarded to BVL it will go
toward #1 and #2 as they are state mandated. Then work can begin on #3 as it is in the worst shape.
Ladies Club
The Ladies Club will hold a community sale on October 9th with a rain date of October 16th
.
New Business
Wristbands
Ms. Plunk made the motion that the BVL glow in the dark wrist bands be ordered for 2022, Ms. Wood seconded
the motion. The motion passed 8-0.
Audit
Mr. Wilson made the motion to perform the audit through December 31st
; the motion was seconded by Ms. Plunk.
The motion passed 8-0.
Food Trucks
Mr. Boettcher approached the board asserting the food trucks and the generators are a nuisance to the surrounding
neighbors. Mr. Plunk asked for workable solutions that would satisfy everyone involved. It was agreed that the
food trucks would come on Mr. Boettcher’s days off and that they would park in front of the pool and the
generator would placed on the clubhouse side of the generator.
The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9:21 p.m.

The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met October 11; at 7:00 p.m. President Ned
Plunk called the meeting to order Larry Wilson led the assembly in prayer.
A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Ned Plunk, Moriah Mozingo, Larry Wilson, Vicki Moore,
Melanie Turner, Christine Vanelli, Nathan Naramore, and Secretary-treasurer Christy Chavez. A quorum was
established.
There were no association members present.
Nominations were taken for President. Ms. Moore nominated Ned Plunk, Ms. Vanelli seconded the motion.
Nominations were closed. Ned Plunk was named president.
Nominations were taken for Vice-President. Mr. Wilson nominated Vicki Moore, Ms. Vanelli seconded the motion.
Nominations were closed. Vicki Moore was named Vice-President.

Due to the need for an additional mowing the motion was made and seconded that an additional mowing take
place with funds coming from the general account. The motion passed 6-0.
