- New Business A. Special called board meeting Monday 3-21-2022 . A quorum was reached with all but Moriah and Barbara Campbell present. Kyle made a motion to hire a local attorney, Brad Palmertree to represent BVL on delinquent account collections. Chris seconded the motion. Unanimous vote.

BUENA VISTA LAKES MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION, INC. March 7, 2022
The Board of Directors of Buena Vista Lakes Maintenance Association met March 7, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. Ned Plunk called the meeting to order and the assembly was led in prayer by Larry Wilson.
A roll call of board members was requested. Present were: Ned Plunk, Moriah Mozingo, Kimberly Wood, Larry Wilson, Vicki Moore, Leigh Cornish, Barbara Campbell, Kyle Cornish, Nathan Naramore,,Melanie Turner, and Joe Bales. A quorum was established.
Association members present were: Diane Barber, Kathy Fink, Ann Plunk, Steve Shifflett, Janice Burchett, Tyler Graston, and Donna Miller.
MINUTES: The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting Minutes of February 2022 was reviewed by the directors. A motion was made to accept the minutes, seconded, and passed unanimously.
FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Monthly Financial Statement of February were reviewed by board members via portal and passed unanimously. The motion was made and passed unanimously to review each months finances (via portal tab) by close of business the 11th and submit votes via text to approve.( At least seven members approval needed to approve.)
Finance:
- A bank statement was received from Sycamore Bank showing a $46,343.83 ending balance for BVL. Moriah and Ned will go to bank and close the account and transfer funds to our account at Keith Collins.
- Caldwell will be our insurance carrier.
- Cary Embrey in Coldwater has a BVL bond. Moriah has a meeting set up to discuss.
- Motion to move both general ledger accounts from Sycamore Bank to Keith Collins. Voted on and passed unanimously. Neighborhood Watch:
- Ms. Wood reported 3 calls to the Sheriff’s Department.
- Suspicious vehicle call.
- Disturbance call between roommates
- Non-emergency security calls & concerns can be made to DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department at 662.469.8599. Recreation (Pool, Ballfield & Playground):
Mr. Wilson reported:
o He did not have time to take inventory of pool area items. He will perform inventory check and report at
a later time.
Clubhouse:
Ms. Moore reported:
o Nathan presented a second bid (first bid reflected on Feb. meeting notes) on repairing the clubhouse from
National Home Service. A motion was made by Nathan to accept $2,729 bid for NHS with an amendment stating the expense not to exceed $3000. Seconded by Joe and passed unanimously. Work to be done includes repairing roof, wall area in corner of room & ceiling above and both bathrooms ceilings. (Kilz to be used).
Orange Book
Melanie’s work week is Wed-Sat. Her committee will go line by line and revise text into plain talk. Discussion on a fine schedule to be set up for people who break the by- laws and rules.
Motion made by Nat to refine schedule and set up special meeting to review and vote on. Seconded by Kyle. Motion carried.
Beautification:
Ms. Cornish reported:
o Leigh thanked all who came out and helped clean up around clubhouse and the playground.
- Code violations can be reported to Bennie Hopkins @ BHopkins@desotocountyms.gov and/or Michael Lee 901.730.2792 Permits
- Ms. Vanelli reported:
o No report.

o Visiting with one resident Tyler Graston
Mowing & Grounds
Mr. Cornish reported:
o Four bids were presented to the board ranging from $870 to $1552 for full cuts and $650 to $975 for
partial cuts. Motion to use B & B Landscape for one year with the contingency the company is bonded, licensed and insured. The motion passed unanimously.
Maintenance: Lakes & Dams:
Motion made to allow beavers to be hunted and killed in BVL, seconded and passed. ( Steve Pionk and Steve Shifflett currently do this for our community). Steve Wilson has ok’d the dock improvements. Limit of occupancy sign has been discussed.
The motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9:35 p.m.
